Prometheus, What a Pleasant Surprise You are!

Ladies and gentlemen of Saudi blogs and otherwise, it is with great pleasure that I introduce you to a fellow Saudi blogger ;this time, however, he is one with an outstanding artsie perspective and aesthetic view on life. Something we've been greatly lacking in our cozy little blogosphere, no?

Going by the name of Prometheus, in reference, we assume, to the great Greek mythological figure, (and not a fictional vessel from neither Star Trek nor Star Gate!), it is refreshing to see Saudis with such mastery of the Arabic language and understanding of beliefs, myths and art pieces belonging to foreign ancient cultures.

Keep bloggin' mister, we're sooo proud of you!

Welcome Back, Abduh

Abduh, a computer sciences student at KFUPM, is back after a month and a half of absence. He says, he finally discovered what does it mean to have a "writer's block." During his absence, he moved to one of the fancy buildings of KFUPM dorms (probably to a room like the one I'm blogging from right now), and he also purchased a new mobile phone. He intends to start a Flickr account to express his new hobby: phone photography. Good luck, and welcome back!

Roba Does Saudi Blogs

The Jordanian blogger Roba has been touring the Saudi blogosphere in the past few days, and she says she was "surprised at the difference in mentalities and ideas of the different Saudi bloggers." I'm glad that this blog is giving the chance to explore the diversity of the Saudi community. And maybe sometimes I'm not so comfortable with the language and level of the conversation taking place in some Saudi blogs, but I think it is quite normal to find such things in any community.

Proud 2 Be Saudi

This Saudi girl says you will read this sentence everwhere in her blog. "I want to write so that I correct the idea. The Saudi women have all of their rights they do not need anyone of defend their rights," she added. We are all proud to be Saudis, and we are looking forward to read more.

Redesign

Gemini Blues has given her blog a makeover. The new design is "lighter and brighter," and she says she likes the photo on the top, which resembles "a girl screaming, with her tongue out, into her cell phone, and of course you see the butterfly and the splatters of paint." Nice.

New Blog

Swaleef is the new addition to the Saudi blogs community. In her very first post, this Najdi girl does not seem to be a supporter for women's driving in this country.

Welcome

Welcome to Saudi Blogs. This blog will serve as a directory for Saudi blogs, as well as the official blog of the Saudi bloggers community. Our first attempt to build this community was the Saudi Blog icon which appears on several Saudi blogs now. I suggest that all of you who have the icon to link it to this blog. To add your blog to the list, or to get the code for the Saudi Blog icon, please email us using one of the adresses at the end of the sidebar, or leave a comment here. This blog is maintained by me and Farah.
